on the side not (sorry if it is personal), I did not understand why your wife is going to india for delivery ? Don't you have insurance ? Doctors generally advise not to travel long journey ? She will get better treatment here.. and you can call somebody from your family to be here too...

Hi Forgerator! I saw your comments on other thread and was wondering if you can comment on my situation:
I have already filed my taxes as single in February 2011. I got married late feb. 2011 and now wondering if I can file/re-file as married? My wife is still in India and will arrive here in July. She did not have H4 as of now.

In Feb 2011 you filed taxes for calendar year 2010 - in which you were single. So you can not re-file as 'Married filing jointly' for 2010 tax return. For 2011 - yes you will be able to file 'Married Filing Jointly'

these one-time contributions are good. But I suggest the members should be encouraged to make regular monthly contributions, even as low as $25 a month. It's doable...just the cost of dining out with your family one time. that way the activities of IV can be planned much in advance, and it would lessen the anxiety of iv core.
just a suggestion, it might help the folks to contribute monthly if some of the activities are highlighted by core, so that the folks know how their monies are used. I know there are some issues to it, but a general info would help.

saps, gave you green for this. Thank you. Some sentences still have to change though, as still says "Legal Immigrant Community". It should be "Legal Employment Based Immigrant Community". I am sending this letter not only to President elect Obama but my local media as well. I am going to mass mail our voice until it reaches enough ears to open them & cause action. I have had enough of this uncertain ridiculous wait. While I still have some strength in my bones, I am going to give this all I got. YES IV CAN!!

I agree..but legislation is long term away...this govt has its hands and feet tied...so no hope until next jan/feb anyway...the least we can do is try and create noise..
On Legislation, look at how they twisted and turned the 180 day pending rule for FBI backlogged application in their favor by coming up with processing times..extended till next year June..basically they said...great ..new legislation..we will implement it next june if any of u guys are around to check...
I know ombudsman and all that is a farce...but atleast if 1000 people ask the same question someone will do something...currently everybody filed in July 2007 and Aug 2007 are totally backlogged...it used to take about 2-3 months to process an I140 - even if they received double the applications it shud not take so long...plus TSC has implemented this pilot plus program which binds both the 140 and 485 together..so no 140 gets processed at all...heck what legislation can u come up with stupid methodologies like that ?? - the best thing wud be for AILA or someone else to stand up and say..enuf is enuff...we want audits on USCIS processing and they shud be subject to individual performance reviews and be questionable and answerable on each and every case...lets push for accountability...more than anything else..

My previous company is refusing to give me a official experience letter..even though i worked there for three years..
I am ready to file for my 140 and my attorney initially said that two Notarized affidavits from employees at the firm who worked with me will be good enough..
now he is saying he is not sure if USCIS will accept those affidavits...
has anyone used such affidavits to prove their experience.?did it work
Will USCIS reject 140 because of this or will they issue an RFE...

Hi All,
My priority date is March 2006 in the EB2 category. I am scheduled to be married to an Indian citizen in December 2010. However, based on the visa bulletin, it seems possible that I might get my 485 approved as early as August 2010. What are my options to delay my green card processing until I get married? What other options to I have to bring my wife to USA in case I receive my green card before marriage?
Any suggestions and advices would be greatly appreciated.

Just heard from some wonderful people in the HR that in their opinion, I cannot get payed till they have my H1B extension approval in hand! Of course, the same wonderful HR people waited till the VERY LAST DAY to file the extension! So I have to wait for 2-3 months to get paid, even though I reminded them 2-3 months back to get started on my renewal?
I am soooo done with this country and its semi-educated, inefficient and ignorant bureaucracy and its blood-sucking, greedy, exploitative employers.
The USPS won't forward my mail to my new address correctly after they send me the receipt for my change of address form!
The SSA loses my new-born son's social security card!
Something is going terribly wrong with this country.

I signed a contract with them last year ( May 2008) which says that i have to stay with company for one year. and after that i need to give them 2 weeks notice before leaving otherwise need to pay them 15,000 dollars. does that contract still valid??
I am not sure, they gonna pay me my salary once they know i am leaving them. They always delay salary as much as they can. maybe in my case they will make some excuse and will not pay me. Let See.....what will happen.

It does not matter if you are on EAD or H1b. GA DMV has been causing problems lately to everyone including few of my friends with a GC. GA DMV is getting notorius with this and unnecessarily making an issue with renewing and issuing new DL's.
We are already dealing with monster USCIS and now we have to deal with GA DMV too. Why are we made to feel that we are so unwelcome here?
any idea or any leaders who want to take charge. I will definitely give lot of support. because without DL in GA / Atlanta ..you are pretty much stuck. what happens if it is their fault in renewal ?? can you drive ??
I would say ..start telling this to influential people ..and writing emails to AJC ..any other ideas ?
